About the role
The Foster Care Program delivers a culturally safe and trauma-informed service dedicated to supporting Aboriginal children and young people in foster care placements. Focused on well-being and cultural responsiveness, the program extends its support to the children's families and their foster carers. VACCA prioritises reuniting children with their parents and extended families whenever possible. Case Managers play a pivotal role by providing casework and case management services, conducting visits, supporting foster carers, and implementing tailored Cultural Support Plans to ensure the holistic care and cultural connection of each child.
About You
Provide casework and case management for Aboriginal children in out-of-home care using a trauma-informed approach. Responsibilities include regular placement visits, supporting foster carers with cultural guidance, developing Cultural Support Plans, facilitating family contact, and identifying children’s needs through the Looking After Children framework. Maintain accurate client data, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with quality standards. Flexible hours and managing kinship or targeted care placements may be required.
