About the role

We’re looking for a skilled Case Manager with family support experience who specialises in intake services. This role offers the chance to lead change within VACCA’s Family Services program, working with a project team to drive best practices.

Supported by the Intake Team Leader, you'll collaborate with leaders, staff, and key stakeholders to ensure a seamless intake process while fostering strong community connections.

About You

As the Intake Coordinator for Northern VACCA Family Services, you will lead a culturally safe, family-centered intake process, ensuring families are connected to the right support. This role involves overseeing referrals, managing key partnerships with agencies like The Orange Door, Child Protection, and local service providers, and maintaining strong relationships with VACCA staff, self-referring families, and the broader community. You will screen referrals, collaborate with Team Leaders on case allocations, and ensure a smooth intake process while keeping leadership informed. Additionally, you will manage waitlists, support short-term family assistance, and uphold best intake practices by working closely with Intake Coordinators across VACCA regions to drive continuous improvement.

  • Requirements: 
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a client-facing role in the family services sector.
  • Experience working directly or indirectly with intake functions and processes.
  • Desirable: Experience working in Aboriginal organisations and with Aboriginal communities.
  • Desirable: Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology and/or Child and Family Welfare
  • Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
