The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. About the role

As a Recruitment Advisor, you will play a crucial role in attracting and selecting the best talent to support VACCA's purpose of promoting and protecting the rights of Aboriginal children and young people. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating closely with hiring managers to understand job requirements and identify the ideal candidate profiles.
  • Utilizing various recruitment channels, including online platforms, job boards, and professional networks, to source potential candidates.
  • Conducting initial screenings, interviews, and assessments to evaluate candidates' qualifications, skills, and cultural fit.
  • Providing a positive candidate experience by maintaining open communication and acting as a brand ambassador for VACCA.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws, policies, and regulations throughout the recruitment process

About You

  • Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities
  • Proven experience in a recruitment function with a demonstrated experience in operational end to end recruitment.
  • Proficient in using Application Tracking System, preferably PageUp
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in fast paced environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications in human resource management (HRM), industrial/employment law, or a related discipline is desirable
  • Requirements: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
