• Salary: $85,120 - $91,586 plus superannuation and salary package

About the role

This position is responsible for providing 1:1 case management and group interventions for men who have perpetrated family violence, addressing anger management and cultural healing.

The Men’s Worker will collaborate with Aboriginal communities and families, enhance referral pathways, and support the leadership and identity development of young Aboriginal men.

About You

• Commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose 
• A comprehensive understanding of the dynamics and impact of family violence for Aboriginal families. 
• Experience and ability to work with Aboriginal organisations and communities and a proven ability to effectively communicate with Aboriginal Men and their families 
• Awareness of family violence issues and understanding of intergenerational trauma experienced by Aboriginal men 
• Ability to apply a flexible, non-judgmental and empowering approach to service delivery and work in Community 
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member in a challenging environment.  
• Ability to provide a flexible service delivery model, including after-hours support, outreach and wraparound services and community supports and outcomes for Aboriginal men
• Requirements: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
