The Organisation
The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. The VACCA team is committed to the organisation’s visions and values, passionately providing support, service and advocacy for our children and other vulnerable members of the community.
Our strength lies with our people.
About the role
The role of the Project Officer is to work alongside the Specialist Family Practitioners and Team Leader to support the establishment and successful delivery of the program. This will involve initiating and strengthening networks and relationships in Community, supporting program advocacy for culturally appropriate service responses and establishing and maintaining cultural and program resources.
The Project Officer role will play a critical part in arranging and supporting group diversionary activities and cultural healing activities for participants and their families, as well as undertake key project responsibilities such as ensuring timelines for program implementation and reporting requirements are met, liaising with the reporting team to analyse and interpret program data, and other project tasks as required.
The AFC Youth Justice program at VACCA works in a team, reporting to the Team Leader. Staff are supported by a broader organisational support system of specialists and practice experts.
