About the role

The Senior Project Officer will focus on evaluating family violence and sexual assault services, developing monitoring frameworks, and designing culturally informed evaluations. They will contribute to building an Aboriginal evidence base, support new program development, and ensure evaluations align with Aboriginal decision-making.

The role takes a participatory approach to project design, management, and delivery, while also assisting the RED team with other projects as needed.

About You

  • Experience in the design and implementation of research and/or evaluation for family violence and/or sexual assault services 
  • Excel in program design, stakeholder analysis, and navigating organisational and political contexts
  • They will have experience designing and implementing evaluations that embed Aboriginal decision-making and are skilled in quantitative and qualitative data collection methods
  • Understanding of the context in which VACCA delivers services, government policy frameworks that apply to family violence and sexual assault services and supporting self-determination. 
  • Strong project management skills, written communication, and a commitment to professional development are essential, along with the ability to work independently and motivate teams.
  • A bachelor’s degree in social sciences or a related field is required. A post-graduate degree is desirable
  • Requirements: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
