The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. About the role

The Family Violence Support Worker provides transport support to young people ages 5 to 17 years and women’s who attend the group sessions within the Family Violence programs both in Melton and Werribee offices.
 

About You

  • Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose and the capacity to championing same in service delivery
  • Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities
  • Proven ability to work in a team and independently
  • A  willingness to participate in training programs and in supervision
  • Requirements: 
  • A tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, family therapy, counselling or a related discipline.
  • Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check (or willingness to obtain) National Police Check and a Victorian Driver Licence.
