About the role

The Learning and Development Worker will develop and deliver training programs and resources for program staff and users of the Mental Health and Well-Being Connect Centre.

 This position is responsible for the development and design of training workshops and resources that are accessible, communicable and effective for adults, whilst applying recommendations from the Cultural Practice Lead to ensure everything produced is culturally appropriate, has Cultural Safety and follows the Cultural Practise Framework that governs all we do.

This role is responsible for coordinating and facilitating a series of peer support groups and yarning circles for centre staff and users of the centre, as well as the ongoing learning and development of frontline staff on Cultural Safety

About You

  • Commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose
  • Learning and Development or facilitation certificates, diplomas or degree
  • Skills and experience in Learning and Development, training and Adult Education
  • Demonstrated skills in group facilitation and peer learning/education
  • Demonstrated skills in content and resource development, including fact sheets, brochures and accessible digital information including proficient in Canva, Photoshop or InDesign (in order to produce resources)
  • Knowledge or experience working with carers who support living with someone with mental health, social emotional or trauma related challenges, lived experience will be preference.
  • Experience in working with key stakeholders and working alongside multiple organisations
  • Proficient in development of training content and delivering face-to-face training, group facilitation and peer education/support groups
  • Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended).
