The Organisation

The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. The VACCA team is committed to the organisation’s visions and values, passionately providing support, service and advocacy for our children and other vulnerable members of the community.

Our strength lies with our people.

About the role

This is more than a coordination role. It is an opportunity to empower families to lead the decisions that matter most for their children. Working from a strength based and culturally grounded approach, you will support children, families and community to come together, share their stories, and create a pathway forward that keeps children safe, strong and connected to culture. Through Family Group Conferences, you will create a welcoming space where every voice is heard, family knowledge is respected, and lasting solutions are shaped by those who know the child best. By building strong relationships and walking alongside families on their journey, you will help create meaningful change and positive outcomes for Aboriginal children and families.

About You

You are passionate about supporting Aboriginal children and families to thrive, and believe culture, family and community are at the heart of lasting change. You build genuine relationships, bring people together with respect and empathy, and create culturally safe spaces where families feel empowered to have their voices heard. Confident working alongside Elders, community members and service partners, you are committed to strengthening family led decision making and helping families achieve the goals that matter most to them. You are organised, collaborative and motivated by the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of Aboriginal children, young people and families.
