The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. About the role

Lead a welcoming and culturally safe intake service that connects Aboriginal children and families with the support they need. You'll work closely with community partners and VACCA teams to ensure every family receives a timely response and positive experience.

About You

You are passionate about supporting Aboriginal children, families and communities through a culturally safe and responsive approach. You bring strong relationship building skills and can work collaboratively with families, community members, schools, hospitals, Child Protection, The Orange Door and other key partners. You are confident coordinating referrals, assessing family needs and connecting families with the right supports in a timely way. With strong organisational and communication skills, you can manage intake processes, maintain accurate records, support quality practice across teams and contribute to continuous improvement. You are committed to self determination and empowering families to achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.

  • Desirable:
  • Substantial experience working in a client-facing role in the family services sector.
  • Experience working directly or indirectly with intake functions and processes.
  • Experience working in Aboriginal organisations and with Aboriginal communities.
  • Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology and/or Child and Family Welfare or an equivalent related to community services or willingness to obtain.
  • Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
