About the role

This role is responsible for providing family violence case management support, advocacy, referral and support to Aboriginal adults and children who are experiencing family violence. The Family Violence program provides a range of support options including short-, medium- and long-term casework.

About You

  • Commitment to and understanding of the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose
  • An awareness of family violence issues and the impacts on women, children and families. 
  • Knowledge of FV protection act, MARAM Framework, local family violence programs, accommodation, legal, health and community services within the region – or the ability to acquire that knowledge. .
  • Demonstrated positive working relationships with other agencies in a service network, and experience with shared casework, or group work. 
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, sound verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare reports, submissions and other relevant documents.
  • Desirable 
    • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, or a related discipline or a willingness to work towards an equivalent qualification 
    • Previous experience in Family Violence Sector 
  • Requirements:
    • Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
