About the role

As a Lakidjeka (ACSASS) Case Advisor, you will support Aboriginal children and families by providing cultural guidance and advocacy throughout the child protection process. Working alongside Child Protection, you will help ensure assessments, planning and decision-making are culturally informed, respectful and focused on the best interests of Aboriginal children. You will also support families to understand their rights, navigate legal processes, and have their voices heard.  

About You

You are passionate about supporting Aboriginal children and families and bring a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture, community and the issues that can impact family wellbeing. You are confident working alongside Child Protection and other services, providing culturally informed advice, advocacy and support that promotes the best interests of Aboriginal children. You can assess risk through a cultural lens, build strong relationships, manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records. Whether working independently or as part of a small team, you are committed to achieving positive outcomes for Aboriginal children, families and communities.

  • Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended).
