The Lead Tenant’s role is to live at the selected property and the young person/s and establish positive and meaningful relationships. • Building a respectful, culturally safe relationship
  • Liaising with VACCA support workers as needed
What we’re looking for
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity (this is an identified position)
  • A mature, patient, and culturally grounded individual
  • Willingness to undergo a Working with Children Check, police check and WCES Check
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Comfortable living semi-independently alongside a young person
  • Prior experience with young people, mentoring, or community work is a plus but not essential
What you’ll gain
  • Free accommodation
  • Training and ongoing support from VACCA staff
  • The opportunity to genuinely change a young person’s life trajectory
  • A meaningful way to contribute to Aboriginal community and culture
We are committed to Aboriginal self-determination and supporting strong, safe, thriving Aboriginal communities and aim to ensure every individual is treated with dignity, honouring all cultural backgrounds, abilities, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities and spiritual beliefs.

VACCA is a child-safe organisation and is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people with zero tolerance for child abuse. All successful applicants will be required to undertake a National Police Record Check and Working with Children Check prior to commencement of employment and periodically following commencement.
