About the role

Join us in making a meaningful difference. As a Senior Tenancy and Risk Worker, you’ll support Aboriginal people across Inner Gippsland to secure and maintain safe, stable housing.

In this role, you’ll provide culturally safe, strengths-based case management, working alongside individuals and families facing challenges such as financial stress, mental health, substance use, or community factors. You’ll build strong, trusting relationships and deliver holistic, person centred support, connecting people with services and practical resources that help create lasting housing stability.

About You

You are a compassionate and driven practitioner who is passionate about supporting people to stay safely housed, even in the face of complex challenges. You bring strong case management skills and confidence in advocating for clients, building trusted relationships with community, services, and housing providers.

With a solid understanding of tenancy processes, you’re able to guide people through systems with clarity and care, whether that’s providing advice, preparing documentation, or supporting them through processes like VCAT.

You’re organised and proactive, with a strong eye for detail, and you take pride in delivering culturally safe, respectful, and responsive support. Most importantly, you’re committed to walking alongside community and working collaboratively to achieve positive, lasting outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Previous work experience in the Tenancy or Residential or Housing services and/or experience working with Aboriginal children, families and communities in statutory services.
  • Minimum requirement of Diploma of Community Services or other appropriate tertiary qualification/s and/or experience relevant to this position.
  • Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. 
  • Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
