About the role

The Team Leader – Family Services provides leadership, direction, and support to case management staff across Aboriginal Family Preservation and Reunification Response [AFPRR], Intensive & General Family Services supports. The role oversees the delivery of early intervention, outreach, and wrap-around support services to Aboriginal children and families in the East Metro region. A key focus is ensuring integrated service delivery and strong engagement with other VACCA programs.

About You

  • Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose
  • An awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, along with awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities, and commitment to continually build knowledge in this area
  • Solid understanding of the child and family services sector including MARAM framework, risk assessment practices, and relevant legislation and policies.
  • Experience supporting child development, family functioning, trauma-informed practice, risk assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams, providing professional supervision, and supporting the development and wellbeing of staff.
  • Experience reviewing case documentation (eg. Case notes, case plans, assessments) to meet audit and practice standards, and contributing to continuous quality improvement.
  • Proven ability to manage program implementation, performance reporting, and funded targets, along with strong communication skills to collaborate with ACCOs, Elders, and community-based organisations.
  • Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
