About the role

This role is responsible for delivering the Aboriginal-led Case Conferencing (ALCC) program. The ALCC is an early intervention program designed to divert Aboriginal families away from the Child Protection system and into culturally safe supports. 

About You

• Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose 
• Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures and an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal people in contemporary Australia and the diversity of circumstances of Aboriginal people 
• Experience working in a client-facing role in the child and family services sector 
• Proven experience in case management, including the ability to identify risk factors and develop risk management plans 
• Ability to identify when risk levels have escalated and a consultation with Child Protection is required  
• Ability to advocate alongside Aboriginal children and families for their interests 
• Demonstrated ability in facilitating meetings and mediating outcomes with families and stakeholders 

Desirable

• Experience working in Aboriginal organisations and with Aboriginal communities.
• Certificate, Diploma, and/or Degree qualification in Community Services, Social Work and/or relevant field. And/or significant experience working with Aboriginal communities, and willingness to complete relevant qualification.

Requirements

• Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
