The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. About the role

Reporting to the Senior Program Manager (Care Services), the Team Leader of the Targeted Care Package (TCP) program will assume a crucial leadership role at VACCA's Ovens Murray region. This position entails overseeing the day-to-day management of the TCP program and supervising a team of Key Workers. The Team Leader will ensure the efficient delivery of services within a culturally informed framework, with a central focus on Connection to Culture and VACCA’s Cultural Therapeutic Ways.

  • Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose
  • Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose
  • Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities
  • Demonstrated experience in working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children with experience in child and family sector
    Demonstrated experience and ability in the provision of a high standard of case management practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, conduct staff appraisals, mentor staff by providing them with relevant information, support, feedback about their work, and opportunities for professional development

Desirable

  • Relevant qualification in diploma or degree or equivalent in Youth Work, Social Work, Social Welfare Sector, or the like will be desirable.
  • Minimum 2 years of Case Management experience in the Child, Youth and Family sector.

Requirements

  • Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
