About the role

Step into a role where you walk alongside Aboriginal young people in care, helping them reconnect with their identity, stories, community, and Country. As a Cultural Mentor, you offer guidance, cultural knowledge, and steady support, working closely with the care team to shape meaningful experiences.
You capture each step of the journey through case notes and occasionally share insights with the team. With some flexibility in hours, you create the right moments for connection, making a lasting impact where it matters most.

About You

You walk alongside Aboriginal children and young people, helping them strengthen connection to culture, community, and identity through guidance and positive role modelling. Working with care teams, you shape meaningful support, share insights, and keep clear records that reflect each journey.
Grounded in VACCA’s values, you communicate openly, contribute to plans, and stay committed to learning and growth. With a flexible and trauma informed approach, you create safe, supportive spaces where young people can thrive.

• Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. 
• Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended).
