About the role

In this role, you’ll support Aboriginal women, children and young people on their healing journey after family violence. You’ll create culturally safe spaces for connection, yarning and trust, delivering therapeutic group programs that blend trauma-informed practice with cultural healing.
From intake and safety planning to group facilitation, you’ll walk alongside participants every step of the way—working with Elders, community and partners to promote wellbeing, resilience and hope.

About You

You bring a culturally safe, trauma-informed approach to supporting Aboriginal women, children and young people impacted by family violence. You’re skilled in building trust, facilitating therapeutic groups and supporting participants from first contact through to ongoing care.
Confident in assessment, safety planning and connecting people with the right supports, you work flexibly across community and group settings. You value strong relationships and collaboration with Elders, community and partners, helping people strengthen their wellbeing, cultural connection and sense of hope.

  • Desirable:
  • A tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, family therapy or related discipline along with demonstrated experience
  • Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
  • Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
