About the role

This position is responsible for co-ordinating a culturally safe, family-centred intake function for Western VACCA Family Services. The role will oversee all referrals coming into the Family Services program area and manage VACCA’s key partnerships with referral agencies, including internal programs and external agencies; and support the team with best intake practice. The Intake Coordinator will hold a strong focus for ensuring families requiring support are met with a timely response.

About You

• Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities.
• Strong understanding of the relevant legislation, policies, practice frameworks and requirements relevant to the effective operation of the programs and services.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively with other agencies to support families to navigate and access support services.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and process both the client-facing and administrative components of referrals with strong aptitude for working with computer-based client management systems.
• Substantial experience working in a client-facing role in the family services sector.
• Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology and/or Child and Family Welfare or an equivalent related to community services or willingness to obtain.
• Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
