About the role

This role supports Aboriginal individuals and families accessing the Orange Door Hub by providing culturally safe intake, assessments, and immediate assistance. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the practitioner offers short-term support and connects clients to appropriate services for ongoing care and healing.

About You

This role provides culturally safe, short-term case management and crisis support to Aboriginal clients at the NEMA Orange Door Hub. It involves intake, assessment, care planning, and respectful engagement, while ensuring accurate reporting and data entry. The practitioner strengthens cultural safety across the Hub, supports team education, and liaises with services to ensure responsive care for Aboriginal families.

  • Requirements: 
  • A degree in social work (or equivalent) or willingness to work toward the qualification in line with the mandatory minimum qualifications policy or significant lived experience relevant to the work
  • Minimum two years’ experience in Family Violence sector
  • Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
