About the role

This role supports Aboriginal clients accessing the Orange Door Hub by managing referral intake, completing assessments, and responding to immediate needs. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the practitioner delivers culturally safe, high‑quality support to Aboriginal women, children, men and families. The role provides short‑term assistance and connects clients with appropriate services for ongoing support where required.

About You

You will bring experience in delivering short‑term case management and crisis responses for Aboriginal clients accessing the HMA Orange Door Hub. This includes completing intake processes, undertaking MARAM assessments, identifying client needs, and developing culturally responsive care plans, with outreach provided where required. You will engage with clients in a respectful and culturally safe manner, supporting choice and self‑determination while contributing to the cultural safety of the Hub. Strong attention to compliance is essential, with responsibility for accurate case notes, assessments, closure and incident reporting, and maintaining up‑to‑date client records within the CRM, including the appropriate allocation of brokerage. You will also support triage processes as needed to ensure timely and effective responses for clients.

  • Requirements: 
  • A degree in social work (or equivalent) or willingness to work toward the qualification in line with the mandatory minimum qualifications policy or significant lived experience relevant to the work
    Minimum two years’ experience in Family Violence sector
  • Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. 
  • Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
