  • Salary      :  $110,110.00 - $114,980.32 (FTE), plus super and salary packaging

The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. About the role

In this newly created fixed-term role, you will coordinate strategic projects supporting the preparatory phase of the Latrobe Valley Place-based Partnership a Closing the Gap priority reform project, working closely with the Latrobe Valley Partnership Koorie Committee.  

This community-focused role emphasizes youth engagement, creating culturally safe activities that strengthen identity, connection, and support networks; and supporting the Latrobe Valley Koorie Partnership Committee in a secretariat role, including administration and facilitation. 

What you will do 

  • Coordinate internal and external projects to prepare for the Latrobe Valley Place-based Partnership 
  • Support administration, planning and development for the Koorie Committee 
  • Engage community members in culturally safe activities with a youth focus 
  • Plan and deliver events to network for diverse stakeholders 
  • Research and write grant submissions, policy papers, and reports 
  • Manage project planning, implementation, and budgets 

About You

  • Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, along with awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities, and commitment to continually build knowledge in this area
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage diverse community members 
  • Located in the Latrobe Valley or surrounds
  • Qualifications in youth work, social work, project management, administration or similar
  • Strong research and writing skills for grants, policies, and reports 
  • Project planning and management experience including budget development
  • Prior event management skills including a capacity to plan and deliver events for a wide range of stakeholders 
     

Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
