About the role

As a Therapeutic Residential Care Worker, you’ll play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and healing environment for children and young people. You will build warm, positive relationships that support them to feel valued, understood, and empowered. Using a trauma‑informed approach, you will help each child make sense of their experiences, develop healthy coping skills, and grow emotionally, socially, and culturally.

This is a deeply rewarding role where you’ll make a genuine difference every day guiding young people toward healing, strengthening their resilience, and helping them build the confidence and life skills they need for a brighter future

About You

You’re a calm, caring, and proactive support worker who builds positive, nurturing relationships with children and young people. You work well in a therapeutic team, respond steadily to challenging behaviors, and use daily routines to encourage healing, growth, and life skills. You communicate respectfully with families, keep accurate records, follow procedures, and contribute to the smooth running of the home. You’re reliable, reflective, and committed to ongoing learning and doing what’s best for each child.
  • Requirements:
  • A minimum Cert IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or be prepared to undertake such study as part of the employment agreement.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate, or be prepared to undertake the course
  • Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. 
  • Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
