The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. About the role

Lead a passionate team dedicated to strengthening the cultural identity, safety and connection of Aboriginal children and young people. You will provide culturally strong leadership across AFLDM, Cultural Planning, KCPS and Youth Justice programs, ensuring high quality, culturally responsive support for children, young people and families. Working alongside community, ACCOs, ACCHOs, DFFH and key partners, you will help create positive outcomes and support Aboriginal children and young people to stay connected to culture, family and Country.

About You

You are a culturally strong and values driven leader who is passionate about supporting Aboriginal children, young people and families. You bring experience leading and mentoring teams, guiding culturally safe practice and driving positive outcomes. With strong knowledge of relevant legislation, service standards and compliance requirements, you support staff to deliver high quality services while fostering continuous learning, accountability and growth. You build respectful partnerships, embed culture in everyday practice and lead with integrity, collaboration and a commitment to community.

  • Desirable: 
  • Minimum Education/ Qualification- Diploma of Community Services or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the community services sector
  • Substantial experience in a leadership role within community services, child and family services, or a related sector
  • Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. 
  • Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended).
