About the role

VACCA Investigators are crucial in safeguarding Aboriginal children and families by investigating allegations of abuse and neglect, adhering to legal and cultural guidelines to ensure safe and thorough investigations, while collaborating with other professionals to prevent harm and promote wellbeing.

About You

A skilled Investigator with extensive experience in handling complex cases, and applying principles of natural justice and procedural fairness. Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, alongside excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen, empathize, and adapt language to diverse audiences. A collaborative team player, capable of offering support while being mindful of individual differences. Proficient in prioritising tasks, managing workload, and building effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. Strong computer literacy, with intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.

  • Requirements: 
  • Certificate IV in Government (Investigations), or other professional investigation training (i.e. Diploma of Government Investigations, police training, Child Protection) and/or equivalent investigation or child, youth and family or care service experience. Or the willingness to undertake relevant studies.
  • Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
