About the role

VACCA’s Koorie Families as First Educators program (Balert Gerrbik) provides support for Aboriginal families to build capacity to support their children’s early learning and development and connection to Community and culture through in-home support and group-sessions.

About You

• Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose.
• Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities.
• Demonstrated case management experience, including coordinating, and delivering effective advice, support, and services to Aboriginal families.
• Well-developed planning and organisational skills.
• Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and liaising with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal organisations to achieve project objectives and goals.
• Effective interpersonal skills such as written and oral communication, including effective conflict management, and the ability to create and revise case plans, reports, and other documents.

Desirable

• Early Years Education qualifications: Certificate III / Certificate IV Early Childhood Education and/or Diploma in Community Services
• Experience working in case management

Requirements

• Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
