The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. About the role

The role will work closely with the Western VACCA, Senior Program Manager in liaising with relevant stakeholders to maintain positive relationships and ensure intake, referrals, case management and reporting responsibilities and any other compliance requirements are met.

About You

• Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose
• Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of policies, legislation, current reforms relevant to family services operations.
• Demonstrated understanding of the principles and practices of culturally safe case management practices, child development, and risk assessment.
• In-depth knowledge of the NDIS operational model and NDIS planning process.
• Ability to support and direct networking, connection and events relating to the community connector roles.

Desirable

• Relevant qualification in social work, youth work, psychology or related discipline and at least three years’ experience in the child and family service system.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership role

Requirements

•  Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
