VACCA Aboriginal-Student Placements:

Our Aboriginal-Student Placement program is structured and purposeful, incorporating training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities from our program areas applying knowledge gained through education in a practical work environment.

Our First-Nations Placement program supports Aboriginal Students to develop skills and experience with client facing casework by shadowing staff across a range of programs and services providing better outcomes for children, families and carers.

The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community, and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia.  VACCA is a Child Safe organisation that ensures a high quality, culturally appropriate service is delivered to all children, families and carers.  All our VACCA teams are committed to the organisation’s Vision and Values, passionately providing support, service and cultural advocacy for our children and other vulnerable members of the Community.

 

About You-

  • MUST be a student who identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • studying a relevant and accredited qualification
  • are passionate supporting and advocating for Mob 
  • have the ability to engage with vulnerable children, young people, their families and their carer's
  • want to gain experience in outreach work, community programs, services and activities

 

Requirements-

  • Police Check
  • Victorian Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)
  • COVID-19 vaccination
  • Victorian Driver Licence as applicable
