About the role
The Digital Communications Advisor supports the Communications team in the development, implementation and regular review of VACCA’s communications including social media, internal communications, electronic direct mail, website updates, campaign development and general coordination and planning across the team. This role requires someone with understanding of digital marketing, social media, copywriting for diverse audiences, relationship building and a strong competency across a variety of digital programs and platforms.
About You
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose
- Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures and an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal people in contemporary Australia and the diversity of circumstances of Aboriginal people.
- Strong communication skills across a variety of mediums.
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal affairs, both in a federal and Victorian context, and/or knowledge and understanding of the community services or child and family welfare sector.
- Competency across a variety of platforms and programs commonly used in digital marketing, including but not limited to content management systems, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics and MailChimp.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree or qualification in Communications, Media studies, or similar is highly desirable.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a digital communications or marketing role which includes online content development (web content, digital copy writing, social media, video or audio production, etc.)
- Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
