About the role
This position is part of the Western VACCA Client Services Leadership Group and will provide leadership, direction, and support to VACCA staff employed within these programs across the Werribee and Melton office. The role will extend to ensuring all Western Family Violence staff are provided with appropriate supervision and training opportunities to enhance their capacity to provide quality culturally appropriate services.
About You
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose and the capacity to take a leadership role in championing these internally and externally
- Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities.
- Demonstrated experience in working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children, in particular experience in family violence sector.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills; the capacity to liaise and negotiate with funding bodies, Orange Doors, and other agencies; and the capacity to promote and represent VACCA in the community.
Desirable
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the child, youth, families, and community sectors in a leadership role and experience working in Family Violence Sector.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in the field of social work, family violence or community services sector.
- You must have and continue to hold a full Victorian Driver’s Licence, a current employment Working With Children Check card and a clear National Police Check
- Current COVID-19 vaccination – strongly recommended
