About the role

This role is responsible delivering outreach family services supports to Aboriginal families in the Ovens Murray area. The Integrated Family Services Case Manager will work within the Family Services team to support Aboriginal people and their families who are referred to the Family Services program through several referral pathways, including self-referrals and/or from other community agencies.

About You

  • Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose.
  • Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities
  • Demonstrated experience in working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children.
  • Demonstrated experience in child and family sector.
  • Good knowledge of the Family Violence and Child Protection sectors
  • Ability to effectively engage and support families on agreed goals and tasks in a timely manner using strengths-based, culturally appropriate and trauma informed approaches.
  • Demonstrated skill to identify goals and create a plan to respond to these in a timely manner, including experience to respond crisis situations effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred qualifications in relevant diploma, degree, or equivalent such as Social Work and/or a minimum of 2 years work experience in relevant industry.

Requirements

  • Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
