About the role

The Program Manager works in partnership with VACCA Leadership group, and the broader Family Violence team to lead high quality, culturally safe and effective responses to Aboriginal people seeking support around Family Violence.  Additionally, the role will work to build and maintain effective partnerships with Aboriginal and mainstream services, communities, and internal VACCA programs.

About You

  • Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose and the capacity to take a leadership role in championing these internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build this knowledge, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities.
  • Demonstrated experience in working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the legislation, policies, practice frameworks and program manuals relevant to the effective operation of the programs and services

Qualifications

  • Minimum degree qualified in Social Work (or equivalent)
  • Qualifications in Family Violence and MARAM training
  • Minimum five years’ experience in Family Violence/Child Protection

Requirements

  • Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
