About the role
 
The Executive Assistant and Legal Administration Officer is responsible for providing administrative support to VACCA’s Litigation team in preparing for and responding to court hearings where VACCA is the applicant in the proceedings.
 
The Executive Legal Administration Officer is also responsible for providing high level executive, administrative and project support to the Director Legal Practice in relation to the broader portfolios of the Legal Practice Division including law reform, legal policy and training. 
 
The Executive Assistant and Legal Administration Officer will build and maintain effective working relationships within VACCA’s Litigation team, Executive Leadership group, VACCA programs and external stakeholders to support the administration and business of the Legal Practice Division more broadly.
 
About You
  • Commitment and understanding of the values that underpin VACCA’s vision and purpose
  • Relevant qualifications, or experience in legal administration or a related field (law students strongly encouraged to apply)
  • Ability to solve problems or provide solutions to promptly resolve administrative or resource issues and prioritise tasks as they arise 
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal, oral communication and listening skills, including the ability to operate as a key representative
  • Ability to provide high level executive and project support including high level written skills and capacity to prepare high-quality documents
  • Ability to undertake planning, coordination and management of complex and high-level tasks involving strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to follow directions
  • Capacity to drive operational excellence in the provision of practical support to the Director
  • Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
