About the role

Join a passionate team supporting Aboriginal children, young people and families across Melbourne’s East Metro. In this rewarding role, you will walk alongside families, building strong relationships and creating culturally safe spaces where culture, connection and wellbeing can flourish. Through home visits, practical support, early intervention and community connections, you will help families navigate challenges, strengthen their strengths and stay connected to culture, community and the supports they need to thrive.

About You

You are passionate about supporting Aboriginal children and families and bring a culturally safe, strengths based and trauma informed approach to your work. You build trusted relationships, work collaboratively with families and community, and are confident developing support plans, coordinating services and advocating for positive outcomes. With strong communication, case management and reporting skills, you thrive in a team environment and are committed to empowering families through culture, connection and self determination.

  • Desirabe:
  • Substantial experience working in the child, family, community services and/or disability services sector, including experience supporting vulnerable children, young people and families with complex needs.
  • Requirements:
  • A Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree qualification in Community Services, Social Work, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. 
  • Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
