About the role

The focus of this role will be to support the facilitation and ongoing content development of the Aboriginal Beginning Practice training program, which will see 80 plus Aboriginal Children in Aboriginal Care (ACAC) staff from Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) across Victoria.

A key focus of this role will be to provide expert guidance in the creation, enhancement and delivery of the ABP training program and complete a mapping exercise for future accreditation of the Aboriginal Beginning Practice program.

About You

  • Commitment to and understanding of the values that underpin VACCA’s vision and purpose
  • Minimum Cert IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent (or willingness to obtain)
  • Previous work experience in the Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations sector, and/or the child and family welfare sector including experience working with Aboriginal children, families and communities
  • Experience in delivering high-quality training packages to address identified needs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including a capacity to engage and work with a diverse range of people with a view to improving outcomes for children, families and their communities
  • Experience and confidence in workshop facilitation and/or public speaking
  • Experience with end-to-end development of learning initiatives, with a focus on content, design, layout, flow, engagement, and interactions.
  • Ability to develop clear and concise knowledge check activities or evaluation surveys that reflect the needs of the training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, developing Master slides, quality presentation designs and interactions
  • Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
