About the role
The Senior Key Worker (Case Manager) plays a crucial role in delivering intensive case management services for specific TCP clients. This pivotal position focuses on achieving positive outcomes for clients, aligning with case plan directions and cultural support plans for the children and young people under TCP support.
Operating with a concentrated complex caseload, the Senior Key Worker directly collaborates with the child, their family, carers, and other stakeholders to facilitate changes supporting the child's case plan and desired outcomes. Typically contracted by DFFH, VACCA entrusts Key Workers to meet all DFFH and VACCA case management and reporting requirements.
About You
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose
- Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures and an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal people in contemporary Australia and the diversity of circumstances of Aboriginal people.
- Ongoing dedication to building knowledge and maintaining awareness of Aboriginal societies, cultures, and key issues impacting these communities.
- Proven experience in actively engaging with Aboriginal families and children, along with a solid background in the child and family sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in child development, attachment, and trauma, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively when working with Aboriginal children, families, and carers.
- Strong experience in undertaking complex casework, particularly with families and children who have experienced trauma and may exhibit challenging behaviors. Capable of employing culturally safe therapeutic approaches to promote healing and resilience.
- Strong competence and experience in conducting assessments, including risk assessments, to inform decision-making and interventions.
- Strong ability to develop, implement, and review plans tailored to the needs of children and young people.
- Requirements: Diploma of Community Services, Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
