About the role

The Wilam Support Service (WSS) Caseworker plays a vital role in supporting Community by working closely with the Senior Caseworker, Team Leader, and WSS team. This position manages initial client intake and housing assessments, maintains a caseload of eight or more clients, and ensures timely responses to referrals via phone and email.
In collaboration with the team, the Caseworker determines program eligibility and provides culturally safe, respectful, and ongoing case management support to clients, helping them achieve stability and connection.

You’re a dedicated caseworker who thrives in a collaborative team environment. You bring strong skills in client intake, screening, and assessment, and you deliver culturally respectful support to Aboriginal families. You maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with policies and legislation, and actively participate in team meetings and supervision. Committed to professional growth, you embrace training opportunities and uphold VACCA’s values of self-determination and cultural safety. You’re adaptable, ready to assist during high-demand periods, and passionate about making a positive impact in the community.

  • Requirements: 
  • Flexibility with hours - including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Willingness to enroll or complete relevant community services studies
  • Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
